Kids' EE is distinctive in its methods and approach.
Yet it is based on elements familiar to those who have participated
in Adult EE or Youth EE. It is also based on sound principles of
teaching, which recognize the needs of children.
Kids' EE is Interactive and Relational:
The Kids' EE methods can be summarized in two words: Interactive and
Relational. Kids' EE provides children with opportunities to interact.
They interact with each other, with their team leaders and the teacher
through discussions and small group activities. They interact with
the materials through making crafts and take home items. They interact
with the Kids' EE content by acting out the illustrations, saying the
Kids' EE Gospel Presentation and sharing the gospel in OJT.
Kids' EE also provides opportunities for children to relate to the
adults and youth who are their team leaders. We recognize that at
this age children need and are looking for strong role models. They
want genuine relationships with adults they can trust and with whom
they can communicate. Through their relationships with their team
leaders, children in Kids' EE can experience meaningful associations
that have the potential for lasting influence.
Kids' EE Methods Reach all Children's Learning
Styles:
Kids' EE introduces the materials for learning through methods that
appeal to children's primary learning styles. These learning styles
are based on the use of visual, print, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile
materials.
Many children prefer to learn through visual materials over against printed materials.
Therefore, Kids' EE has developed a complete set of visual materials for use
in teaching children the gospel presentation. The character of Farley weaves
the materials together and provides a common reference for the children to identify.
Teaching with objects such as a slime egg, which is used to tell
the Rotten Egg illustration to show man's sinfulness, appeals to
children who want to touch and feel and have hands-on learning activities.
In the Unit on Man, children learn this illustration and use slime
egg to tell it. Every unit includes some object that provides a concrete
illustration of one of the key concepts that is taught in that unit.
Kids' EE methods and approaches strive to provide children with
numerous experiences that involve demonstration, discussions, practice
and actual teaching of others. Through the Kids' EE methods of teaching
and the use of the Kids' EE materials, children are able to effectively
learn and retain the Kids' EE Gospel Presentation.
