Share Your Faith

By Ellen Huse
What’s your response to the Great Commission? At GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH we responded to God’s command to, “Go go out into all the world and make disciples...” by offering a day for church attendees to take one of three evangelism workshops to learn how to share their faith. This was the first time that all three workshops were offered at the same location on the same day. KID’S EE for adults and kids offered memory techniques using their hands, arms and legs to express the skeleton (bare bones or five major points) of the gospel visually. Cadences were used to sing the memory scriptures. Skits and demonstrations using audience participation was a wonderful teaching tool.

XEE The next class presented the newest type of EE training that was highly interactive and DVD/discussion driven called “XEE.” This focused on Generation X and Y; those young people and adults growing up in today’s high tech world of computers, DVDs, and cell phones that teach just about everything but the gospel! To sum it up it was “engaging, relational, and based on building a level of trust and friendship with the contact. The goal of the conversation or relationship is ultimately to lead to a spiritual discussion and sharing Jesus Christ.

Finally, the third workshop, “SHARE YOUR FAITH” used the five fingers of the left hand to teach the five gospel points. What a hands on experience! This gospel presentation used in the EE ministry has proven effective in every nation in the world because it’s easy to learn, and hard to forget!

God’s word says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news.” Well, now, using our hands, and our feet 72 people are prepared to be a witness for Christ, Kids' EE People and can introduce him and make him known to others! We are aware that when we share our faith, we can do nothing without prayer, and dependence on God and the Holy Spirit. As God works in the lives of people, we hope that by learning how to share our faith we can be used by influencing those we meet, working with God to bring Glory to himself.
